"Super easy, for sure," Miller recalls with a smile. She never had to tackle the task alone. Instead, as a Concord, North Carolina local, she was able to sit down with Kendall Goss, Pre-press Technician at Boxes by Design. Together, they customized the box size she needed—one that matched her existing shipping box, a critical detail that ensured a seamless transition.
Miller already had everything pre-set in her shipping account, including the box weight. The ability to customize the box size to match her current setup was a game-changer. "That was great, it made it easy," she says, recalling how effortless it was to integrate the new boxes into her existing system.
But it wasn’t just about the functionality. Miller wanted her new packaging to reflect her brand’s identity. She carefully picked out the colors and added her logo to the box design. The design process was collaborative, allowing her to see how everything looked on the website before finalizing her choices.
When the boxes arrived, they were in perfect shape, ready to be folded and assembled. Though she initially had a little trouble putting them together—thanks to all the angles—once she looked at an assembly video that Goss provided her, it was easy to get them folded just right. The shipping labels adhered perfectly, a detail she had personally tested to ensure they would stick.
For Miller, these custom boxes weren’t just for any products. These boxes were for shipping hats. The sturdy structure ensured the hats weren’t crushed in transit and helped maintain a professional image for her and her business.

Create exactly the box size you want. For me, I wanted it to match my existing box size so I could use
all the same shipping calculations.

Get a sample box. Test the area where the label will adhere, put it together to be sure your items will
fit. You’re making an investment here, taking the time to get a sample and do it right is
critical.

Ask for help. I knew I would need a little help in making sure things were perfect and Kendall was truly
interested in helping me. He made sure my logos were in the right format and centered perfectly. I’m not
a designer, but between the easy-to-use tool and Kendall’s assistance, we put together a great looking
custom printed box.
